OUR MISSION

The Cleveland Stonewall Democrats (CSD) are devoted to advancing equal rights for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We seek liberation for all those harmed by the cishet patriarchy, and we work to advance candidates and community members who support this mission. CSD draws strength from a regional network of Northeast Ohio individuals composed of LGBTQIA+ and allied partners who are working in alignment to achieve the following goals:

• To educate LGBTQIA+ and allied community members about the local and national issues facing our community, including the attacks on our transgender siblings, healthcare, and civil rights.

• To lead our people and endorsed candidates on navigating issues of importance to the LGBTQIA+ community, including civil rights legislation, prevention of hate crimes, AIDS prevention and treatment, LGBTQIA+ health and wellness, reproductive freedom & bodily autonomy, and racial justice.

• To work for the nomination of allied candidates and the advancement of progressive policies at the local and national level, and to encourage our community to support and vote for allied candidates and policies that seek to end homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, and prejudice
